Attention & Organization
ADHD, executive functioning
Leading The Conversation
Every child manages attention, organization, and everyday demands differently.
Some children may need more support with focusing, getting started, managing time, remembering steps, organizing materials, shifting between tasks, regulating impulses, or following through. These are part of executive functioning, the skills that help children manage themselves, their learning, and everyday responsibilities.
Understanding ADHD
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one reason a child may experience differences in attention, activity level, impulse control, and executive functioning. A child may be highly focused and engaged in some situations while needing more support in others. Understanding your child's individual pattern of strengths and needs helps identify strategies and environments that work for them.
